The Specimen

A climbing Monstera adansonii with an open silhouette and naturally perforated leaves. This individual is offered for its current composition of green, golden-yellow and paler variegation.

The Foliage

Golden sectors interrupt glossy green foliage, while other areas develop a noticeably paler expression. I have observed unexpectedly pale variegation alongside more traditional golden Aurea-type coloration in developing leaves. Markings vary between leaves; future color and coverage are not guaranteed.

Growing Notes

Provide bright, indirect light and protect the foliage from harsh direct sun.

Use an airy, freely draining growing medium; water thoroughly as the upper layer begins to dry, then allow excess water to drain.

Keep conditions warm and reasonably humid, with gentle airflow and protection from cold drafts.

This is a climber: a moss pole, trellis or similar vertical support gives its aerial roots a surface to attach to as it develops.

Provenance

I previously kept both Albo and Aurea Monstera adansonii and cannot conclusively identify which original cutting produced this plant. Aurea-Type describes the golden coloration presently observed; it is not a verified cultivar or genetic designation. The specimen is not offered as a verified Albo, Tricolor or mixed Albo/Aurea cultivar. Acquisition and propagation dates, original supplier, breeder and precise cutting lineage are undocumented.
